"GT & the Sidewinders"

As far as album titles go, GT & the Sidewinders found a perfect one with Across America. The album's pretty much about traveling in one way or another, whether it be musically or through the lyrics — like the opener, "Coming Home," in which frontman G.T. Scragg sings about driving back home on I-25 to his baby, or on the title track, about a trucker driving across the country. Musically, GT and company are riding with Hank III and Wayne Hancock, with some high-voltage rockabilly, snappy country and a few honky-tonk stops along the way. It's a hell of ride, with lead guitarist Noah "Get-It" Gietka stomping up his share of dust and Informants singer Kerry Pastine dropping in for a few tunes.

Bio

GT & the Sidewinders have mastered a traditional feel with an original sound and contemporary approach. You're instantly struck by songs that are warmly familiar but like nothing you've heard before.

The Sidewinders sound is an unmistakable blend of GT's unique voice and rhythmic songwriting, combined with the slap-style of Chris Chew's stand-up bass, the solid pounding of Rodney's drums and tasty old-school licks from Noah "Get-It" Gietka's hollow-body guitar. Listening to GT & The Sidewinders is like taking a step back in time and listening to an unreleased collaboration with all your favorite artists from the past 50 years.

The Sidewinders have been a working outfit since 1998. With over 40 years of gigging experience between them, GT & The Sidewinders have a strong reputation for professionalism which draws from each member cutting his teeth in nationally recognized bands like The Blue Ribbon Boys, Johnny and the Blades and The Dalhart Imperials.
