Bio

Music so honest, it hurts.

After settling on a solid line-up as a three-piece, GUERRA began playing shows in early 2004. The goal was to create a melting pot of music and ideas into an unrelenting, unforgiving powerhouse of musical mayhem. The band played their first show January 24, 2004 at a local punk/hardcore show. With that, GUERRA received a warm welcome into the music scene by show goers across the Northeast.

GUERRA'S music has been described as a lethal formula of the best known elements: The speed induced chaos of old school thrash metal, the socially-charged lyrics of punk and the pit inducing breakdowns of hardcore, while maintaining an element of groove that grabs the listener by the throat and forces them to take notice. GUERRA'S lyrics display images of personal and social aggression along with glimpses of hope, perseverance and respect for oneself and others.

Within the first six months of playing, GUERRA was nominated for "Best Hard Rock" in The Hartford Advocate, an established local weekly magazine. They have also been the only unsigned band to be featured on www.HeavyMetalSource.com, and Chris recently exposed them to a whole new audience through a feature on CT's major rock station, 106.9 WCCC.

In late 2005, GUERRA acquired guitar virtuoso Chris Vaca, who was the perfect match as he shared GUERRA'S vision to push the barriers of what a band of this caliber is capable of. To complete the circle, 2007 welcomed the addition of Joe Rogers on bass, formerly of MA metal powerhouse, Tempus Mori. Now as an established 4-piece, GUERRA began the song writing process for their debut album Transmissions Through Oil and Blood.

"This 42 minutes of music is a mirror of all that is around us today. I hope people will relate the music to their own lives and feel inspired to think a little outside the manufactured box. It's what music has always done for me, and it's our way of repaying what music has brought to our lives." - Mike Corredor, guitarist/vocalist.

GUERRA has had the honor of playing with Misery Index, Burn In Silence, Shadows Fall, Despised Icon, Full Blown Chaos, Deicide, Municipal Waste, 3 Inches of Blood, Suffocation, Black Label Society, Threat Signal, Six Feet Under, Invocation of Nehek, A Thousand Falling Skies, Devine Heresy, Napalm Death, Goatwhore, Marauder, Dead To Fall, God Forbid and many more.
