Bio
Guillamino walks on the human side of electronica. Handwriting beats. Mixing dub, hip hop, minimal and house in a unique way, adding some spices from all around the world. And singing with a voice full of soul! For all these reasons, today Guillamino is one of the most surprising musicians in Barcelona.
His latest album, "Fang", contains 10 tracks that bring you straight to the future... to the 80s! But he's also released two dance-floor-oriented maxis, "Whip gymnastix" and "Left in the wild", this one featuring remixes by Esteban Adame, Pepepe and Jacques Greene! Now, in 2012, Guillamino is running a real marathon: 12 releases in 12 months, a weird adventure called "Guillamino 12".
But... How did everything start? Following a few releases by Spanish indie label Bankrobber, Guillamino was broadcasted by BBC Radio 1 DJs Gilles Peterson and the late John Peel. It gave him the chance to release a Japanese compilation under the Third Ear label, Atzavara. In 2008 Guillamino attended Red Bull Music Accademy and was added to the roster of the Detroit-based management and booking organization Alter Ego Management.
As a live act -with his whole band or as a solo artist-, Guillamino has played at fests such as South By SouthWest, Today's Art, Sonar or Primavera Sound and also in countries such as Japan, Chile, Germany, France and Italy.
