GuitarConq Franky Lopes

Frank Irving Lopes was born in ARUBA (Caribbean Island). His music Headquarters is in Groningen (The Netherlands). He is a solo artist: show-guitarist, vocalist, entertainer, arranger, composer and creator of a new music-style called GUITARCONQ.

GUITARCONQ is universal, that's why you can hear some influences of dance-hall-rock, soul-underground, blues, jazz-rock, soka, reggae, latin, and some other musicstyles in his music. This is his soloproject, with all compositions of his own. Frank has fantastic musicians to accompany him at the live performances. The name of the band is:

"GUITARCONQ FRANKY LOPES”

Conq is in the first part of the Spanish word Conquistador, (that's Conqueror in English). His big dream is to become world famous as the Guitarconqueror. The guitar is his favourite instrument and he plays it with a lot of passion and conviction. When you hear Franky Lopes for the first time, it just takes that one note and BANG!!! You'll never forget it. It's super and is printed on your soul for life. Franky is a showguitarist with a lot of gimmicks and he moves all over the stage in a certain trance and hysteria. Franky's voice sounds like a percussion instrument; briljant and original.

Franky was influenced by many very good artists and musicians. A few of them are the following:

Jimi Hendrix (Experience), Eric Clapton (Cream), Johnny Winter, Carlos Santana,
Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) etc. etc.

LATIN-JAZZ-ROCK:
Willy Colon, Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval, Chick Corea, Herby Hancock etc. etc.

BLUES:
B.B. King, Albert King, Freddy King, Buddy Guy, T-Bone Walker,
John Mayall, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mike Bloomfield, Eelco Gelling and many other blues giants.

Frank plays a guitar from the heart to the heart, there's nothing like that on this planet. He makes a guitar sing like no one else. He is very limber, energetic and always gives a spectacular show while playing the guitar. Franky loves glamour and wears beautiful costumes during the performances.

Franky shares a special magic and communication with his audience, which makes people feel united with one love, one family and one spirit. This happens through his creative music and guitarplaying. A master interplay between his passionate almost spiritually gentle guitar-play, and a raw, wild feeling and timing, matched by Franky's evocative, finger-fed intonations, is a measure of his utterly remarkable mastership of the instrument.
