"Video Premiere: Gunfighter's Dilemma (Members of Hinder) - "March for Justice""

Gunfighter’s Dilemma is one of the most exciting new instrumental shred bands of the year. Featuring Marshal Dutton of Hinder showing off his guitar chops, the trio’s debut album While The World Slept packed a huge punch earlier this summer. The groups virtuosic style is inspired by legends like Nuno Bettencourt, Andy Timmons, Zakk Wylde and Slash. We are premiering the official video for album focus track “March for Justice” right here at New Noise Magazine!
Guitarist Marshal Dutton has this to say about the song:

“‘March For Justice’ is really a two part song. The first half is a progressive piece of music we came up with right around the time all the riots were happening in 2020. It struck us as a marching style groove, so that’s where the title came from. It’s a high speed, energetic crescendo with lots of shred up to about the four minute mark! If the first half is The March for Justice, the second half is the more emotional side of it that we like to think of as the consequence of the march. It’s slow, melodic and expresses the despair, the hope, the sadness and the joy of the March! ”

Gunfighters Dilemma is Marshal Dutton, John Megehee and Sid Seymour. You can follow them on social media and stream their music here. - New Noise Magazine

Bio

Not everything that came out of the pandemic was bad. When music venues shuttered around the world; Marshal Dutton, the lead singer for multi-platinum rock band Hinder, suddenly had an abundance of free time on his hands to pursue a project he had long aspired to create. Though a singer and multi-instrumentalist, the thing he's always considered himself most to be is a guitar player. Inspired by guitar greats like Andy Timmons, Nuno Bettencourt and Shawn Lane, for years he has been writing and self-recording instrumental songs that exercise his interest in and employ his developing skill on the guitar. A mandatory break in Hinder's touring schedule was just what he needed to focus his efforts on finally developing his instrumental project. Partnering with local Oklahoma City musicians Sid Seymour (bass) and John Megehee (drums) they formed a trio called Gunfighter's Dilemma in May of 2020 just a few months into pandemic. They spent the next year and a half, while the rest of the world was shut down, writing and self-producing their first album titled "While the World Slept". Instrumental in nature, the band's music is a summary of their wide ranging influences embodying elements of rock, metal, pop, blues, jazz and country. From the mainstream pop stylings of the title track "While The World Slept" to the metallic and soaring epic "The March for Justice" to the chicken picken' country influenced tune "Tumbleweed Ride" the band is comfortable crossing genres and has managed to capture lightning in a bottle with their unique blend. Fitting into a niche where artists have a tendency to focus on virtuosity, neglecting melody in the name of self-serving bluster; the band's insistence upon serving the music first and emphasis on expressive musicality sets them apart. Finely interweaving inviting melody with creative applications of technical-mastery, Gunfighter's Dilemma produces a sound that is appealing to mainstream listeners and underground music aficionados alike.
