Gunshot Straight

GunShot Straight are an alternative rock band that hail from the South coast of England but with the world in their sight.
Originally formed in late 2008 GunShot Straight is Chris Carnell on vocals and guitar, Dan Orchard. bass with Steve Hodgkison on drums. GSS released their 1st album ‘The Final Days of 44’ in the spring of 2009, it’s rock, with a mix of blues, soul and a pinch of punk.
Raw power and driving rhythm sets has been complemented with unplugged sets that truly reflect the musicianship of the band – to switch from style and genre to keep giving the audience more.
A tight groove, aggressive solo’s and soulful vocals make up the amazing ‘full’ sound of the 3 piece.
After performing at Alan McGee’s sold out Greasy Lips night (Brixton 2010), GSS took the time to meet the demand of the fans and go back into the studio. While still touring the band began to write ‘Wishes and Wars’. The follow up to Final Days would become a more polished and ambitious project. The album released in 2010 was an instant hit with the fans.
Support slots have included Dodgy, Proud Mary, The Rifles and the Bluetones with various festival slots around the UK.
GunShot Straight has one aim - To put good, genuine rock music back on the world stage. Maximum Rhythm, rock and blues at its best.
GunShot Straight mixes styles and influences dating back to early blues, to beat bands of the 60’s, Motown, Soul, Funk, Punk, Rock, Indie bands of the 90s fusing into an aggressive melodic sound with thoughtful lyrics.
