Bio

GURU Gang is an alternative hip-hop collective from Indianapolis, IN. The GURU Gang collective consists of long time friends who were brought together by their love for music, fashion, and innovation. GURU Gang's style is very nostalgic; reminiscent of supergroups like Boot Camp Clik, Wu-Tang Clan and the Diplomats. GURU Gang is comprised of two subgroups: Troubled Youth (Zakk Lo, Spaid, Don Piff) and Rio Gang (Nvte Digitz, O.B., Jaylitt, Dezzy). The collective started as Troubled Youth in 2008. Troubled Youth would spend most of their time at Zakk Lo's house recording, and producing a lot of their earliest work. In 2009 Troubled Youth released their first project "No Child Left Behind", and followed by the release of "Age Of Consent" in 2010. After gaining traction in the local circuit in Indianapolis, IN, Don Piff  from Troubled Youth used that same platform to release his 2012 solo debut full length LP "Above The Clouds" under the label Immaculate2020, LLC. In the fall of 2014 Troubled Youth and Rio Gang had composed multiple songs that after many studio sessions turned into a 19 track mixtape. Going under the moniker GURU Gang the collective released there first project "DMT" in January of 2015. Proceeded by singles "Just Breathe", "Breaking Down", "Sweet Jesus", and extreme fan favorite "Nexus". DMT gained a lot of attention throughout Indianapolis, IN, and surrounding college towns. Leading to plenty of performance opportunities throughout Indiana.Including local appearances at house parties, inner city clubs, opening up for Mike Jones at Ball State University, Little 500 Triathlon at University of Bloomington, and  several performances in Skrillazoo's Midwest Massacre. In 2015 GURU Gang has shown their ability to fine tune their musical talents highlighting the groups versatility and longevity. In August of 2015 GURU Gang released there follow up project "Lab Experiment"; which in coming weeks the collective plans to release visuals, and continue doing promotional performances through out the area.
