"Love these guys...!! (Mr. Big Tribute)"

"They sound killer..."

Love those guys, and they tackle two songs on this 11 track tribute.
And the 2 best songs at that - they rip through 'Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little boy'
and 'Addicted to that rush'. And they sound killer doing it !!
But that's about the only reason for general rock fans to buy this.
The Güru tracks save the day ( and my ears ). - melodicrock.com

"Güru Rules!!"

Güru are a rock band from Barcelona, formed by David Palau and Pau Sastre in 2007.

The band play melodic, finely-crafted rock with pop, blues, funk influences.

Both music and production are of the highest order on their eponymous debut album, which has caught the attention of the most demanding audiences and has generated interest at home and abroad. Its members are all session musicians whose live shows leave no one indifferent.

Güru is the kind of band that every musician dreams of: virtuosity with no-holds barred music from the heart.

Four musicians doing what they do best: making great music, great AOR and great rock!

Güru are here!!

PRESS:

"From start to finish, the concert totally bowled me over."
What a sound, what class, and what great stage presence. "No more time", another example of elegance and class, together with the ballad "Staring at your door". The interpretation of "Sometimes" was another of the highlights of the evening; what a brilliant singer David Palau is, ladies and gentlemen!! In just about half an hour they left us literally speechless. What idiot would dare to play after this lot? In Spain there are bands out there with willpower and illusion, who try hard, but before all of them...come GURU."

“My mouth opened wide and I just couldn’t shut it after that”
They started to play and after just ten seconds I was captivated by the band’s technical level; you could tell these guys were professionals since the skill of their playing and the sound they managed to get was simply incredible. But when the solo parts came and David got to grips with his guitar my mouth opened wide and I just couldn’t shut it after that. A truly great guitarist, not only because of his technical quality, but because of the melodic quality of his solos, and his stage presence. They sounded incredible, the songs are clearly influenced by Toto and Van Halen amongst others, but with interesting touches of other musical styles, including funk, soul or jazz. In conclusion, a mixture of sounds, sudden stops, twists and turns, and melodies, all of which made for a thrilling experience for all who were there.

“This band will transcend boundaries with the quality and style of the music they offer“
Listening to the sensitivity David Palau singing and playing this song made my hair stand on end. He’s an incredible musician, his solos have soul and technique, much like Steve Lukather (Toto). Moreover Güru is a band with no inhibitions, who have drawn their inspiration from funk, jazz and soul, effortlessly and naturally merging these styles with rock music. It’s about time we had a band like this around here. I honestly believe this band will transcend boundaries with the quality and style of the music they offer. Their debut album is a rare gem that deserves a critique of its own. The good thing about Güru is that there isn’t a single throw-away track on the album, so you can rest assured you’re just going to hear good songs.

“A luxury to hear such quality in one group“
That’s how “Your smile” sounded, with souly touches from vocalist Pau Sastre, who sang like an angel throughout the concert.“Salvation”, to which we shouted ourselves hoarse, especially the chorus line, and what else would you expect other than an incredible solo by David Palau, demonstrating exquisite taste, finesse and delicacy that I’ve rarely seen or heard: without doubt one of the best guitarists when it comes to talking and communicating with the sounds he gets out of his solos; an absolute luxury, and made in Spain at that. It’s a luxury to hear such quality in one group; their professionalism is evident in every aspect, the sound, the performance, the compositions, the elegance of their playing and the way they simply enjoy playing their songs. I hope they get the recognition they deserve.

“Güru outdo more than one mythical American band”
And there’s not much else to say about the event, great rapport amongst the musicians, a continuous interaction between the public and the band, music of the highest quality, performed with impeccable precision, a clear demonstration that Güru outdo more than one mythical American band in this style of music. The concert, however, has taken its toll on the public; how the hell do Güru expect us to survive until their next concert?”

Guru

- www.canedorock.com

Bio

Güru hail from Barcelona and have been wowing the Spanish crowds with their energetic live shows since 2008.

The band is a collective of session musicians and their skills shine through in the virtuoso performances on display across the breadth of his set list.

"From start to finish, the concert totally bowled me over" ( Rockangels.com )
“A luxury to hear such quality in one group“ ( FireWorks U.K. )

Just to name a few...

This cuartet quickly developed a loyal fan base by playing over 30 shows in their first year. They originally garnered much attention being choosed to be Ted Poley's (Danger Danger) band in Spain & Portugal.
The night quickly grew in popularity and soon consistently packed 500-person venue since their debut. Before the close of 2011, the group had also enjoyed such highlights as playing to 2,500 people opening for Jimi Jamison, Y&T, having songs licensed and used in an internationally distributed tribute to Mr. Big.
David was the official opening artist to Bon Jovi's "These days" Spanish Tour '96

Occasionally reminded of Toto - Bon Jovi - Extreme, when the band spreads it's melodic side in a rock set list, elsewhere these guys would surely excite any fan of Journey /Foreigner and their ilk.

Güru is produced the band's guitarist ( Latin Grammy 2012) to a tremendously high standard that allows the excellent musicianship and mature, accomplished song writing to shine through his music. For this second release they have risen the bar... A big symphonic orchesta plays in 2 songs directed and conducted by Grammy winner Joseph Mas "Kitflus", a 20 people classical choir sung for the guys and the best sax spanish player made a major contribution to a this new release called "White".

A new album full of rock songs, big ballads and hymns choruses tailor made for huge stadium with a thousand lighters being waved in the air ( do people still do that? )

"these guys have the sound of a band with a big future ahead" (Power Play U.K.)

Güru is like taking a fresh breath in a over saturated market of Pro Tools/ Photoshop artists.
