Gus Leavenbread

Brought together by their shared love and curiosity of unique music, Gus Leavenbread was formed in 2004 in the culmination of reaching musical transcendence through impromptu jam sessions. The musicians jointly decided this opportunity was too big to pass up and began playing shows in and around the Gustavus Adolphus College campus community. Instantly, an ever-growing fan base responded positively to the unrehearsed and frail group that stood before them. As time progressed, distinct songs were created from situational jams and afterthought-ideas resounding from previous projects the members were involved in. Scott Nelson (Guitar, Vocals) brought to the table many original concepts that the band was able to transform into songs through the lyrical temper and aural mood. In this, Gus creates a distinct studio style, while simultaneously exuding complete originality at each live show. A typical live show is unbound by traditional musical boundaries and deviates from structured songs through free association of unrehearsed ideas and feelings. Out of this has come a blend of traditional rock, progressive undertones, and solid melodies to create what is known as Gus Leavenbread.
