"A trip through emotion"

Wearing your heart on your sleeve is not the easiest road to take for a singer/songwriter. The danger of getting emotionally carried away can be a temptation that in many cases, can prove to be the difference between a erratic ballad like Celine Dion’s My heart Will Go On or masterpiece like U2’s With Or Without You.

Today, very few artists have the unique talent to balance emotion and truthfulness while keeping the artistic flow in a continuous rhythm. Once in a while though, an artist comes along that immediately captures your attention, traps your senses and takes you on a journey of beautifully written and perfectly balanced and soothing verses like Miami based Gus Bryce. Already a nominee for Miami’s Status Quo awards at the young age of 21, Briceno has taken the Miami music scene by storm with his elegant songwriting, and energetic pop-rock sound that mixes different influences from John Mayer and Jack Johnson all the way to the Latin American roots that have defined him growing up.

Born in Caracas, Briceno moved to South Florida with his family in the late 1990’s along with his father, a musical artist in his own right. After settling in the Miami suburb of Weston, Bryce began discovering the sounds of Metallica, and Green Day, which encouraged him to start picking up the guitar. “I really liked those bands because they had creative guitar riffs and I liked how they would play different guitar parts that sounded great together.” At 18, Briceno decided music was his future.

Luckily for South Florida, and music fans everywhere he made that decision.
A trip through Bryce’s music will take your senses to an emotional level that is earnest and beautiful but not overbearing. In Waiting For You catchy lyrics and a soothing sound combine with a pure loving sound most resembling of Peter Gabriel’s in your Eyes. It is no wonder, that Bryce is already considered one of Miami’s music most promising future ambassadors.

Music critics and Journalists like Annie Reuter also agree “there is definitely much talent here. His wear-your-heart-on-your-sleeve tale will make any girl’s heart swoon”

Don’t miss the opportunity to catch Gus Bryce in one of his intimate performances, up next he will be headlining “The Rock” in Tobacco Road on May 7th before making more appearances throughout South Florida.

""December" Review"

Gus Bryce’s one-song EP, December is an impressive acoustic pop-rock release showcasing his soft, airy voice. Beginning with light guitar strumming, his catchy vocals soon enter. Additional percussion can eventually be heard in the background, never overshadowing Briceno’s singing.

Overall, “December” is a laid-back ballad with telling and repeated lyrics, “I don’t think that you will be the one to tell me/What it feels like/To be left alone on December.”

Originally from Venezuela, Bryce began playing drums and guitar in his early teens. Having earned a degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida, Bryce currently performs in various locals throughout the state as well as some festivals.

While it’s only one track, there is definitely much talent here. His wear-your-heart-on-your-sleeve tale will make any girl’s heart swoon. Just a glimmer of Bryce’s future, “December” is a stand-out song that is only the beginning of his musical career.
