After finishing High-School he was called to become musical director of Leon Colman, an independent pop singer with whom he recorded his first studio album with producer Hector Ortiz.
After great years of success in Mexico Gustavo moved to Paris, France to study at the American School of Modern Music. In Paris he studied with Christopher Culpo, Peter Giron, Bernard Vidal, Manuel Rocheman, Rick Margitza, among others.
