Audiences have noted that this newest emergence of Art Rock is one of the most welcome colors on today's post-indie pallette which can sometimes seem crowded with so many hyphenated genres. Though Gwen Mitchell and her band (Experiment) will Pollock your ears with gobs of jazz, metal, and spatterings of Russian cossack dances, there are not enough hypens to serve their live shows justice. Their performances, which showcases each of their extraordinary versatility as musicaians, are framed by a deep sense of personality and humor that runs throughout their shows. This is truly one of the most refreshing and empowering experiences that Chicago is proud to call its own.
