Gyasi (pronounced JAH SEE) discovered music in high school when a friend pushed a trumpet in his hand and said, "We need more people, you're in the marching band." This unlikely start opened a new world to him and in his senior year of high school he discovered that the guitar was his instrument.

Gyasi, as the ready student, indeed found his teacher, guitar/sax player Gary Bell - a well known accompanist for Fats Domino and former guitar player for The Tonight Show. With Bell's meticulous coaching and a voracious appetite for Jazz guitar, Gyasi was accepted into San Francisco State University's Jazz department where he currently studies.

Born in San Francisco and reared in Zimbabwe and Pasadena, Gyasi has come back home to explore his music at local venues including Blondies Hotel, Utah El Rio and Amnesia.
