2012/13 has been a busy time for Sydney indie rock band, Gypsies and Gentlemen. They have already made a big impression on the Indie music scene. Playing in venues such as the Annandale, Forbes Hotel, The Roxbury, The Basement and the Hard Rock Café, their shows have been described as “having a strong sound that explodes when they play live!”.
Gypsies and Gentlemen recently played in the Sony Music Hard Rock Café Battle of the Bands competition for 2012, coming first out of 84 bands. They have since recorded their first single “Brightest Nights” with Song Music.
2013 has seen Gypsies and Gentlemen play at Stone Music Festival at ANZ Stadium in Sydney Australia with press suggesting the band were reminiscent of Birds Of Tokyo, following it up a week later headling a show in Sydney’s Hard rock Café.
Bringing their own take on the modern rock genre, bands such as Incubus, Kings of Leon, Explosions in the Sky and City & Color, have also been used to describe their eclectic range of original tracks.
Gypsies and Gentlemen have also finished shooting their latest music video for their upcoming single "Brightest Nights". The release date for the video is TBA. There is currently a trailer for the video up on YouTube.
The band comprising of of Alex Zucchi on lead vocals and Guitar, Steve Frances on electric guitar, John Balestri on electric guitar, Trent Bulfin on bass and Mitch Bell on the drums. They started with the goal of writing and playing music that they themselves would want listen to and haven’t gone back on it yet.
With a debut EP well underway and there latest single and video complete, with the plans for a east coast and world tour well underway, 2013 is shaping up to be a big year for Gypsies and Gentlemen.
