My music is upbeat, uplifting and is written to inspire! I combine pop/rock melodies with hoppin' rhythms in order to get people to listen to the important messages I portray: empowering, roll modeling and promoting self worth amongst young men and woman.

Biography

Hadar is an exciting young American-Israeli singer/songwriter who makes hit music with a message. Growing up, Hadar was a popular performer in Israel, with appearances on Israeli TV and at major national and municipal events. Upon completing her Army service, Hadar enrolled in the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Israel and then transferred to the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she graduated with honors. After moving to New York, she began touring with such groups as the Sheldon Low Band, the Josh Nelson Project, and Black Tie Boogie. In addition to being a co-writer and guest artist on Sheldon Low's albums, On One Foot, It’s all Challah to Me, and Light up Shabbat, Hadar has also recorded with the Josh Nelson Project, Sister Venus, and Black Tie Boogie. Her music was featured on a compilation album published by Stray Dog Haus Music, and her songs "Butterfly" and "With Me" were chosen to participate in a pitching session for Kelly Clarkson and Anastasia.

Hadar recently released her debut album, "In My Shoes," a musical exploration of social justice and equal opportunity. Combining her signature powerhouse vocals with soaring pop/rock melodies and deep soulful ballads, "In My Shoes" aims to inspire a new generation with its message of empowerment and inclusion.

Now appearing in venues throughout the Northeast, Hadar is a singer/songwriter with something to say, and a fresh way to say it.

Lyrics

In My Shoes

Written By: Hadar Orshalimy & Sheldon Low

One small step scars on my stiletto skin,
I wanted one small step to where no woman has been,
He knocked my heel out, called me "sweetheart",
Closed the door with a grin,
Just tally up another scuffmark and swallow it in.
So I say ‘scuse me Mr., you haven't paid me my dues
You wouldn’t last one minute
Just take a walk in my shoes.

They say I'm prone to criminality my leather is suede
Well I'm a product of conditioning you made me a slave
If I had a school to speak of I would slip through the grades
But I got no Dr. Scholls no arch support I gotta get paid
So I say ‘scuse me Mr., you haven't paid me my dues
You wouldn’t last one minute
Just take a walk in my shoes.

Some people claim we’re all the same
Say it’s a fair game after all
But all eyes are human and through them
The right sometimes gets mixed with wrong

They say I got no laces, and I got no soul,
That since I don't walk straight, straight to hell I will go
Why can’t two left feet be oh so beautiful?
If I ain’t in your face what the hell you bother'n me for?
So I say ‘scuse me Mr., you haven't paid me my dues
You wouldn’t last one minute
Just take a walk in my shoes.

One Day

Written By: Hadar Orshalimy & Sheldon Low

Momma
Tuck me in tonight
Don’t pull the cover up too high
I want to watch the fireflies
And Momma
Just a little spark
Can poke a window in the dark
I think I’ll be a firefly
One day, those were only words to help me sleep
But little girls have dreams

Momma
I see something wrong?
No creases run across my palm
So tell me where my future lies
Cause you said when you were a child
Girls use to run along those lines
But I will get to choose my life
One day, those were only words to help me sleep
But little girls have dreams

And we don’t have to wait
One day has come
One day’s begun
One day the world is ours for taking
I never thought I’d see
One day in my life
This time
I see what you've been saying
Know we're gonna make it
One day at a time

Papa
Now I've seen my share
I knew the world was never fair
But still I never doubted you
And Papa
Only now I see
The irony when I believe
Everything is coming true
One day wasn't only words to help me sleep
Cause little girls have dreams

And we don’t have to wait
One day has come
One day’s begun
One day the world is ours for taking
I never thought I’d see
One day in my life
This time
I see what you've been saying
Know we're gonna make it
One day at a time

I Am Everything

Written By: Hadar Orshalimy & Emily Shackelton

Listen
Listen to my words now
I’ve been silent too long
It’s time to break the rules

You say
Just smile and look pretty
Delicate and dainty
Cuz that’s what good girls do

But I am everything I’ve ever wanted
I am everything I’ll ever need
I am everything you only dream of
Cuz I am everything you’ll never be

Do you believe in what you’re saying?
Aren’t you tired of playing?
Trying to fit the mold

It’s time now
Time to turn the tables
I’m ready and I’m able
To finally stand up tall

But I am everything I’ve ever wanted
I am everything I’ll ever need
I am everything you only dream of
Cuz I am everything you’ll never be

We’re bound by all the lies that we believe
But once we let them go
We can finally be free

I am everything I’ve ever wanted
I am everything I’ll ever need
I am everything you only dream of
Cuz I am everything you’ll never be

Butterfly

Written By: Hadar Orshalimy & Sheldon Low

I remember when you found me,
Caught me movin’ at a crawl
And with your silk wrapped tight around me,
Brought me where I'd never gone
And looking out and looking in
I was never satisfied
But even then, I felt inside
That I was meant to fly

Here I am growing wings to fly away
And I can't wait to see the sky
And all I needed was some time to change
For once in my life
Before your eyes
Stands a butterfly

Tried to climb up even higher,
But I was caught up in your web
As I struggled you pulled me tighter,
Taking more than I could spare
And looking out and looking in
I was never satisfied
And even then, I felt inside
That I was meant to fly

Here I am growing wings to fly away
And I can't wait to see the sky
And all I needed was some time to change
For once in my life
Before your eyes...

And breaking down, these prison walls
I'm fully formed my wings are strong
Nobody’s ever gonna’ string me along

Here I am…

Love Is Love

Written By: Hadar Orshalimy

Open up your eyes
God gave you two so use them wise
Open up your ears and listen

I say love is love
One way alone can’t be enough
No shade of skin or race or sex or age
Could ever make
A normal person think
That love could be a sin

Don’t just see but watch
Cut through the surface into your heart
Now open up your arms
And breath in

I say love is love
One way alone can’t be enough
No shade of skin or race or sex or age
Could ever make
A normal person think
That love could be a sin

No one wants to fights in someone else’s war
Choose your battles cut your lost
But saying nothing is saying something
And I don’t wanna miss a chance to change the world
