Haddock's orphans

It is a great musical tradition to dedicate songs to our special corners, places where we have lived unique and unforgettable experiences. But few bands have recovered the name of a small pub for the collective memory, like the defunct Haddock bar, located in la Lonja in Palma.
It is easy to imagine the degree of commitment these four guys from Palma had to have acquired for their pub to end up calling themselves Haddock’s orphans. It is a sign of the romanticism in which this project is framed. Led by Reus and Piña, their friendship goes back as far as the tender age of three years old.
Haddock’s orphans was formed in the summer of 2007 as a pop-rock quartet singing in English. Since then, they have played in the best venues around the island, and they have made the leap to the mainland, playing in the Ebrovision music festival on two occasions.
They launched their first LP ‘Nihil obstat’ in the year 2009. The sleeve was created by the artist Luís Maraver and the post-production was managed by Daniel Ambrojo, also a Majorcan. It included 10 songs and was named the best demo of the Balearic Islands in the year 2009 by Mondo Sonoro, one of the most prestigious national magazines.
They are currently preparing his next LP that it'll release next Fall 2011.
