Haelotek

Haeltek is the production name for Carly Dickenson, who is a vocalist, producer, and live electronic artists, with 10-years of musical and production practice. She graduated from BA (Music) from the Queensland University of Technology with distinction in 2004, where she specialised in music production and live music performance. Carly has performed at prominent electronic music venues, such as Empire Hotel,HiFi, Moon Bar, and was commissioned to Sound Design for an installation in the Brisbane River Festival (2003), with artistic director Zane Trow. She also performed at the opening of the Creative Industries Precinct; which was attended by the Premier of Queensland.
Carly is known for her distinctive vocal style and for incorporating hardware and midi contollers into live electronic performance. Since 2007, Carly has been pursuing a career as a solo artist and producer, working in a collective context. She has collaborated with various musicians such as Tara Simmons, Liam Griffin, Operon, Dizzygotheca, and Grammy Award winning producer Mike Howlett. In 2009, she became involved with the organisers of the Lady Electronica showcase, transforming this group into a collective of females who work together to expand the representation of women in electronic music. The work this collective are doing involves skills development, sector development, and increasing promotion and performance opportuntities for female electronic artists.
