Bio

HairPeace has been performing together since 1993. Here's a little story about how it all began.........Many moons ago, before their paths intertwined, Ray and Chrystine were graduating high school and looking out the window of life wondering what the future would hold. Ray longed for the bright lights and loud guitars of a hard rock band, which he had for several years. An acoustic guitar was something he only needed once in a while for the beginning of that power ballad! Meanwhile, Chrystine's journey was taking her around the globe in the happiest...when the stage lights were on...group going, Up With People. As the world of stage lights, non-stop travelling and diesel fumes began to wear thin, both decided that returning to college to further their education, in education, would be the right move. They noticed one another right away in the college choir and it didn't take long until their two seperate paths would merge into one. Almost immediately, the harmony between the two was resonating off the walls of their small apartment. Together they began making music that felt right banging on their eardrums, dancing in their souls and singing in their hearts. Getting the name for their duo from the famous 1969 Bed-In for Peace held by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, they have been keeping the music of the acoustic pioneers such as, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell and CSNY alive in coffeehouses and other venues throughout the southeast while welcoming listeners into their musical house with their own brand of original folk/rock in the same smaller venues and larger regional festivals. The give and take vocally and musically between Ray, Chrystine and their listeners is a harmonious experience that will keep your feet tapping and a smile on your face that will make it's way into your psyche and have you humming HairPeace tunes for days. The tunes on this, their third full length cd together, is a direct reflection of their ever evolving love of music, and eachother. Songs like, "Run" and "Born to Fly" keep the blood pumping even though just underneath the surface the lyrics reveal a slightly darker side of lifes ups and downs. "Ghosts of the Storm" tells the tale of the nerve shattering experience of riding out a hurricane; during and after the storm. "Blue in Tenneessee" is a taste of the bluegrass influence that is seeping into HairPeace's songwriting. From start to finish, this cd will have you dancing, singing, thinking, and wanting to tell the one you love what they really mean to you.
