The band Halcyon packs them in at Skipper's Smokehouse, where a rock-infused sound and a feeling of acceptance rule.

You may have seen Halcyon's name around town lately in the live performance line-ups. They just won the Semi-Annual Open Mic Shootout at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, a notable competition for musicians much like a bracketed playoff tournament. - Creative Loafing Atlanta
When Tampa's community radio station WMNF 88.5 chose bands for a remake of the Beatles' "Sargent Pepper's Lonley Hearts Club Band," the producers knew exactly who they wanted for "Lovely Rita".
They chose Halcyon, a women's duo originally from Ft. Myers and Naples, now known to attract up to 700 people at Tampa area shows.
"I could just hear their harmonies," says Randy Wynne, program manager at WMNF 88.5 FM. "They are one of our WMNF favorites. Our listeners love them and our DJ's love them," says Wynne. "When we play their music, we play it right next to national artists, and it sounds really good."

They cast themselves as sort of musical odd couple: Staphanie Callahan country-gospel inspiried neat freak, and her musical partner Debbie Hunseder is a good natured, casual gal who enjoys the more straight-forward lyrical stylings of singer-songwriters.

Deb Hunseder and Steph Callahan met in 1989 and had their first gig two weeks later. The harmonies were magic. From the first note, they knew they had something that could not be matched. Since 1989 the duo has opened for national acts including John Mayer, Pat Benatar, India.Irie, Joan Osborne, Tabithas Secret (now Matchbox 20), Sister Hazel, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Joan Bias, Cheryl Wheeler, Wynona Judd, Patrice Pike, Sarah Bettens, Melissa Ferrick, and Koko Taylor.
They've also performed their stirring accapella rendition of the national anthem for the Atlanta Braves, Tampa Rays and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Halcyon has built a iron clad fan base by touring the US and abroad. They've played many main stage Pride events, Olivia cruises and festivals including Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Alaska, York, England and tour heavily in the southeastern US.
With twenty years of experience, and eight CD's between them in the bag, this duo is a finely tuned personable act. They are capable of touring as a duo, or as a band.
