Halcyon Days

Initially Halcyon Days started in late 2011 with a different drummer and a keyboard player. Writing was difficult as it seemed not everyone was on the same page. It was hard however there were some discussions and the Drummer and Keyboard player bowed out and decided that Halcyon Days was not for them.
The search was on and after a few attempts we were looking in all the wrong places for a suitable drummer. One of the drummers who had considered playing with us after deciding that he too wasn't the right person gave us the details of his old drum teacher and told us to check him out. That is when we met Corey. Corey had a really natural sound and was able to articulate timing and signatures that really matched the other band members. To say we've never looked back is an understatement. With Corey joining the band in Feb 2012 we were set to make music and to present it to the people.

Music for Halcyon Days is about getting the story to the people and to do that we use clever and interesting lyrics along with musically diverse and dynamic styles. We are trying to maintain a standard band set up without too much electrical or backing loops so that we can be flexible with the venues that we play and not be too high maintenance for organisers and venue owners.

We love what we are doing and are really looking forward to building momentum as we go.
