Bio

Halcyon Way was formed in late 2001 in Atlanta by guitarist Jon Bodan & drummer Aabron Eturralde with the intention of getting together seasoned, talented local metal musicians to compose heavy, complicated, and radio-friendly music. After recruiting Glen Williams on bass, they recorded the 4-song EP blind.eyes.to.the.sky to use for the further search for a 2nd guitarist and vocalist. After filling out the lineup of the band, Halcyon Way began to build a reputation on the Atlanta live circuit as a talented band with an energetic stage show and a repertoire of solid, professional material. Halcyon Way is preparing to release their debut full-length CD, [a manifesto for domination]. It is scheduled to be mixed & mastered by James Murphy of Testament & Death fame in April of 2006, and released by an as-yet undisclosed label by the end of summer 2006. Influenced by bands as diverse as Sevendust, Dream Theater, Iced Earth and In Flames, Halcyon Way sport a melodic yet earthmoving sound that is sure to please the metal connoisseur. Halcyon Way was the first Atlanta band to ever be invited to play at the legendary ProgPower USA Festival. The band has also played on bills including such bands as Cathedral, Brand New Sin, Scum Of The Earth, Society 1, Strapping Young Lad, Samael, Helloween, Enertia, Magistral, Prototype, Brainstorm, Tad Morose, Into Eternity, Kamelot, Faultline, Low-Z, Betrayal, Apparition, Ground Xero, Level, & Human Abstrakt. The ProgPower Festival marked the official release of the Deliver The Suffering EP, which is a collection of 3 songs from the forthcoming full length CD, [a manifesto for domination].
