At the age of 16 after singing background vocals for local artists she became a discovery of Fresh Records Inc., a New York corporation. In 1986 she wrote "Never Gonna Let You Go" which was released and was a smashing hit in the summer of 1987. In 1988 she formed Rasheedah Productions, a publishing company established through ASCAP. After "Never Gonna Let You Go", Haleemah would appear at various jazz nightclubs, throughout the New York area. At the age of 22 she began attending Basement Recordings in Brooklyn New York and later relocated to Georgia and attended Goldberg Management Studios in Atlanta in order to enhance her engineering abilities. Joining the Frustrated Records team an Independent Record Label established in 1996, Haleemah is not only an artist but also the Sr. Vice President in charge of all Productions.
