Bio

We all encounter a crossroad. A point where the choice you make sets the course for the rest of your life. Haley McGuire reached such a place, and chronicles her journey with “We’ll Scream Louder,” the new ep from this gifted singer/songwriter out of Nashville. The title track, along with other standouts such as ‘Reality,’ exposes the heart of a girl who strives to be honest and open with her lyrics and with her audience.

Along with her lyrics, Haley felt the pull to be honest with herself and what she was hearing from God. This meant a decision to put her studies on hold and pursue music full-time. She clings to passages in the first book of Jeremiah as she navigates through this transition, and constantly clings to the fact that though she is young, God is using her gifts for His purpose.

Haley’s spiritual and musical paths were set in motion almost simultaneously. At the age of 9, she became a Christ-follower and started writing music a few years later as a way to express this newfound freedom in Him. The hills and valleys that are common in our walks are celebrated and poured out in each word Haley writes.

One of these valleys is the feeling that things are moving too slow. In this age of instant gratification, she admits she is tempted to want things on her schedule with the before-mentioned track ‘Reality.’ “ Haste is really something I struggle with everyday! So in this song I wanted to be open and reveal my flaws... which isn’t easy to do,” says Haley. "My favorite lyric in this song is ‘Some way, some how I'll find out that this beating inside me is all about You!’ This lyric not only gets down to the heart of the song but also to the heart of reality.”

Haley’s powerful voice and insightful lyrics instantly speak to her generation, but she is thankful that her music is being used to reach people no matter where they are in life. “I want people to be reminded of the Lord working in their lives when they listen to these songs,” she exclaims.

All of us make decisions in life that alter our course. Each choice brings praise and support, or judgment and doubt. Not many of us have the wisdom to navigate the waters at such a young age. Through the questions, the storms and second-guessing, there is no safer place than the hollow of God’s hand. The center of his will. This is where Haley McGuire strives to be.
