Half Tree Road
we sound like acid rock with funk warts but with dynamic so that we also sound like a sunset smiling when we feel we need to..
Biography
A newly formed Perth band whose influences branch deep into the history of rock and music itself. Influences include Tool, RHCP, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, John Butler, Sugar Hill Gang, Jimi Hendrix and Cream. Our story is pretty long but to cut it short Ben and Dave quit their band and continued jamming together religiously and always looking for "the rest of the band". After about a year of solid jamming they found Justin who could now help turn all their riffs into songs. We have our first gig coming up in November at the Rosemount.

The sweet smell of rain
slowly became
the aroma of life
draped like a mane
The solem few
wallowed into
my ever present fears
the body works to
It has come before
it will come again
a matter of "if"
but only when
poison to some
tonic to them
this is not what i expected
The saddness contained
the sores it has paid
a constant reminder
of demons not tamed
You can only fight
a shadow with light
despite all your strength
of power and might
It has come before
it will come again
a matter of "if"
but only when
poison to some
tonic to them
this is not what i expected
The games that we play
in the modern way
a favourite shirt
thats starting to fray
i open my eyes to the
drastic suprise
that i have become
the Lord of the Flies
It has come before
it will come again
a matter of "if"
but only when
poison to some
tonic to them
this is not what i expected
I've come to realise that
its only just a fligaddi

Into the dark of the night
The rider embarks on his flight
Away from death and despair
Into the crisp winter air
Our dreams are real
You have good reason to fear
Why don’t you just walk away?
There aint no reason to stay
Despite all of our peaceful plans
The blood remains on my hands
Our dreams are real
You have good reason to fear
As for me it is too late
my bridge is burnt as some would say
The time has come for me to face my fate
Shed no tears I own my sins
Your pity buys me no more time
All hope is lost for me in my soul
I’m coming home
Sweet harmony you’re all I ever wanted
Our dreams are real…
My eyes are black my teeth are white
As for me it is too late
my bridge is burnt as some would say
The time has come for me to face my fate
Shed no tears I own my sins
Your beauty buys me no more time
All hope is lost for me in my soul
I’m coming home
I’m coming home...

Sittin’ on a sandbag
Looking at a convoy
Fightin’ for a cause that he can not believe in
Disease of never tryin’
Hopes will soon be dyin’
Going through the motions without a sense of pride
Free your instincts
Happiness defies our morals
Free your instincts
Happiness defies
A new day dawns
A change is in the air
The battles made him strong and brave
Freedom of a Tartar
Killing feeds his soul now
The desert is a nice place to live
Free your instincts
Happiness defies our morals
Free your instincts
Happiness divides
Awake and in the night he walked to the riverside
Smiled up at the stars and lit himself a cigarette
He heard a twig snap and thought it was a squirrel
A flash of lights was finally what set a fire the misery
Never thought he’d grow to love this kind of life
Never thought he’d grow to love this kind of life
Never thought he’d grow to love this kind of life
Never thought he’d grow to love this kind of life
Free your instincts
Happiness defies our morals
Free your instincts
Happiness defies

Are you feeling really low
I’ve been feeling really low just lately
This whole thing is getting me down
We lost the King but we found the crown
It’s never meant to be like this
I’m sure you’re sorry for all the things that you missed
Forgotten protest bleeds to an end
We’re tiptoeing to this tiptoe trend
