Long-time friends Sam Acevedo and Kyle DuBois have been playing music together for years. Says Acevedo: "We were always waiting for someone else to come along to complete the puzzle. We played in a handful of bands with other people and none of them ever got off the ground the way we wanted them to. We felt like we'd literally tried everything and played with everyone so we left our hometown in South Florida for Gainesville to recruit new members. We thought that it being a huge college town, we'd find the kind of creative people we were looking to build with. It took us about two years of spinning our wheels in Gainesville before it hit us: we could move from city to city looking for something we're not sure we'll ever find, or we could dig in as a two piece." Adds DuBois, "The puzzle was complete all along. We've been writing and recording as Half Undressed and it's the best, most organic process we've ever known."
