Roots to Rock. From folk roots to screaming guitars, Halfway Homebuoy's sound is bred from the hard working roots of Northern England, Switzerland and Australia. A kind of mix of Kings of leon meet oasis meet mumford and sons, topped off with a bottle of scotch.
Established in Verbier, Switzerland, where the five piece of bardtenders worked, Halfway Homebuoy made it's first jump in late 2010 when they moved to Sydney Australia and signed to Foghorn Records. After recording their debut EP 'crossing borders' in the Damien Gerard Studios, the 'buoys' then began establishing themselves in the Sydney music scene. In a relatively short time they began gigging in some of the cities most sort after venues including, the Annandale Hotel, the Metro and the basement. The latter they recently headlined on a Saturday night recieving recognition by national ticketing agency 'Moshtix' as 'staff pick of the week'. They have featured in Brag Magazine, been the main feature on televisions 'Song writers across Australia (swaa) and had songs used in the award winning sports movies 'this is my winter' and 'play gravity 2'. Now working with Gibson australia and ready to begin touring their upcoming album around Australia and europe.
