"The 9513"

When I first visited Hali Hicks‘ MySpace I was blown away by the song she has set on auto play, “Rain On A Tin Roof”. At 16 her voice is mature beyond her age, you can almost feel the heartbreak that she sings about in her songs. - the9513.com / Brody Vercher

Bio

Hali Hicks was born on April 13, 1990, in Rome, Ga. She grew up in Cedartown, GA and Carrollton, GA. She is a 16 year old country girl, who loves nothing more than playing, writing, singing and performing.

Hali is a typical teenager who likes hanging out with her friends and going muddin on four-wheelers.

Halis career started early. At the age of 7, she was performing at churches around her hometown(s) and local talent shows and Private Events throughout Atlanta.

In September of 2000, while performing at a talent contest in Nashville, TN Hali fell in love with Music City. Also, in September of 2002, she performed with Jerry Lee Lewis band at Jerrys birthday bash and convention in Memphis, TN. She has performed yearly at the Georgia Mountain State Fair in Hiawassee, GA and many other venues throughout Georgia, and Alabama.

Her most recent accomplishments were: in September 2005, she cut her very first demo containing all original songs, written and composed by her, two of which you can hear on her music Myspace: Missin You and I Love You.

In October of 2005, Hali moved to Nashville, TN where she has performed at venues such as, The World Famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Laylas Bluegrass Inn, Roberts Western World, Nashville Crossroads, The Stage, Legends, The Hotel Preston, and she even performed on stage at THE Ryman Auditorium, the Mother Church of Country Music for a couple of hours.

Prior to moving to Nashville, Hali visited the Grand Ole Opry, while there she was invited backstage to visit with some of the legends such as, Whispering Bill Anderson, and Jim Ed Brown. But the thing she remembers most about that night is getting to sit or rather stand backstage and talk with Jamey Johnson for about an hour or two. "He's like me, just country", stated Hali after meeting Jamey.

In March of 2006, Hali moved back to Georgia, due to her grandfather being ill, but still plays in Nashville from time to time .

In May of 2006 Hali returned to Nashville to record her very first Nashville Demo which contains the other two songs on her music Myspace: Rain On A Tin Roof and You Left Me.

Hali is currently working on new songs. When asked where she gets the ideas for her songs, Hali simply replies: I dont know they just come to me, no special circumstances or anythingthey just pop into my mind I guess its like God just puts them there.
