Hallon Brain was born from the ashes of a successful Brightonian covers band a few years back called Clover. Swedish guitarist Maik and British singer Janie decided to continue playing music together as what started out as a Bluesy-Jazzy duo.
Once that got on their nerves, they wanted something more... something...bigger, something....awesome....!
So they formed a band. Maik got some of his mates together and they started thrashing out some of the heaviest, noisiest, meanest Metal-Up-Your-A*se riffs, while Janie and Maik sat at the piano conjuring up beautiful, angelic pop songs. The two aspects were mixed in a bowl of Raspberries (note: hallon is swedish for raspberry) and demos began being recorded.

The band finally teamed up with Jean Krieger, the instrumental Indie-Kraut Rock performer and producer, who ended up recording, producing and mixing their debut album, "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got Bass". The band are now gigging occasionally but focusing on getting the album finished and released.
