Biography

..................Hallows songs are like a weird dream. Having been born on Halloween, songwriter David Drake finds his influences rooted in the mystical, engaging the listener with vividly imagistic stories and metaphorical challenges and concerns of a modern world. All the while, the tales told to you in his raw, chilling baritone are set to hypnotic soundscapes equally lush with atmosphere, mood swings, and conscious beauty. DD and his group of talented friends put on a great live show, with every performance changing and growing in its theatricality. See Hallows live currently in Los Angeles, CA regularly playing with the Beachwood Rocker’s Society … Tours coming soon.... {}

Walls of Ivy

Written By: David Drake

Illuminations shine right through her eyes. The narcotic of Love has hypnotized, her to believe that, nothing is mine. Yeah she screams out, nothing is mine. She's free now that nothing is mine. She knows.. We can Change or we can already be done. As the caterpillars climb the Walls of Ivy up to the Sun.

Morning Glory buds trapped deep inside will bloom a pathway through the sky. Where she can see that nothing is mine. Yeah she screams out, nothing is mine. She's free now that nothing is mine. She knows.. We can Change or we can already be done. As the caterpillars climb the Walls of Ivy up to the Sun.

Fate has brought us together, lets undress all we know. Bathe our naked bodies in the Sun rays Aura. Climb the Walls of Ivy to our new found home. Where you and me can be....Reborn.

We can Change or we can already be done. As the caterpillars climb the Walls of Ivy up to the Sun. We can Change or we can already be done. As the caterpillars climb the Walls of Ivy up to the Sun.... Up to the Sun.

Cocoon

Written By: David Drake

Sunshines but the Sky's are cloudy.
Bee's are dying and so is honey.
So slip inside a soft Cocoon and rise again in the month of June.
I close my eyes.
The Sky, it drugs me.

Little girl your not alone.
Polar Bears have lost their homes.
They slip inside a soft Cocoon and sleep until the month of June.
You close your eyes.
The Sky, it drugs you.

In your arms you may hold a bag of gold. With it you will do just what your told. So slip inside the sweetest soft Cocoon.

Late at night I've lost my way.
I turn around to find the day.
Its lighting up the Arctic ice.
To wash away a fools advice.
I close my eyes.
The Sky, it drugs me.

In your heart you may hold a bag of gold. Honey don't you just go do what your told, no, not what your told. So slip inside the sweetest soft Cocoon.

Adder's Dream

Written By: David Drake

In the garden of delight, what could go wrong? 4 rivers collide as they channel a song. A melody that soars to the stars then falls to the ground, to be lost. To take shape in sound.

The Sky matches the colors of her eyes.
The Sky matches the colors of her eyes.
Her eyes, they told me the stories ending.

Enduring silent thought bleeds into speech. In a resonating tone so close, yet so far out of reach. It sings of.. as the orchard grows, with thorns upon a rose, in the enmity of man. Her body was exposed and so the story goes a garden turned into sand.. beneath.

The Sky matches the colors of her eyes.
The Sky matches the colors of her eyes.
Her eyes, they told me the stories ending.

Suddenly we are all alone, how soft her skin and alive her moans. As we lay beneath the willow tree. Overgrown grass running through our seams, as the freshest air comes to answer a plea.. how beautiful our lives could be. As we bathe in twilights last sunbeam and fade into destiny. Yeah we shape into destiny.. Into the Adder's Dream.

The Sky matches the colors of her eyes.
The Sky matches the colors of her eyes.
Her eyes, they told me the stories ending.

Get Up and Walk Away

Written By: David Drake

I look at a picture of you.
I Get Up and Walk Away.
You've been missing for 13 days.
I think I'm in need of some self help.
For turning to you and no one else.
Im walking away.

I shared all of my feelings with you.
You'd Get Up and Walk Away.
Honey, its been your credit for all of my dues.
I think your Heaven must be my Hell.
Everyday I've been felling ill.
Lord knows I will change.

Still you.. You tear my heart out.
Yeah you tear it out.

Now that I've had it with you.
I think I'm going to stay.
Live like this until the end of days.
In celebration of our health.
Until the termination of myself.
If I'm here to stay.. yeah

Still you... You tear my heart out.
Yeah you tear it out.

All at Once

Written By: David Drake

Everyone is living All at Once.
The tree's are dancing in the wind.
Some hearts are broken and some fall in love.
Some dry up and some begin.

Everyone is living All at Once.
The currents they push and pull it all in.
Like a trillion moments in one drop of time.
Splashing upon your skin.

Hope, its like a wall inside. It crumbles and decomposes as the years go by.
Love, under the rocks it will hide. In sedimentary fix, until someone kicks it aside.

Everyone is living All at Once.
On a frozen lake a fire burns.
The divided parts then melt into one.
Ambitions overturned.

Everyone is living All at Once.
With shadows as memories.
Growing longer as the sun goes down.
As everyone is just you and me.

Grace, is like the air that we breathe.
Invisible with a touch and a taste to believe in...
Faith, is like the vengeful Sea. Impossible when lost, or a path to be free.
