Bio

Formed in January 2004, Hal Reed and the Mob have taken the midwestern blues scene by storm, including a victory in the 2004 Iowa Blues Challenge. This has led to an opportunity to compete against the best unsigned blues bands in the country at Memphis' International Blues Competition in January 2005.

Mississippi native and front man, Hal Reed, comes from a long line of blues players including his grandfather Lucious Smith (legendary for his African blues style) and his uncle Lester "Big Daddy" Kinsey. Reed blends syles ranging from gospel to R & B, never straying far from the grit of the delta and the energy of Chicago.

Keyboardist Ezra Sidran has played blues from the West Coast to the west end of London and all points in between. Drummer Jimi Van Hyfte and multi-faceted guitarist Will Gustofson have both been highly respected and in high demand, gigging throughout the Midwest for several years. Rounding out the quintet and bringing young blood to the band is bassist Claire Finley, currently attending the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston.

The Mob blends many influences to create real blues that is both instantly identifiable and completely unique.
