"Brillo's Aftermath"

Handbrake are a foursome coming out of Denton, TX that recently released their debut album Brillo’s Aftermath at the very end of this past year. Just seeing that a band hails from Texas always gets me a bit excited because for whatever reason that state has held an amazing reputation for producing music that gets along quite nicely with my ears. Handbrake can be considered yet another band that helps keep this reputation going with Brillo’s Aftermath. The album is a wonderful throwback to some of the states mid nineties indie-rock roots that at times reminds me of Paul Newman while spinning kind of an interesting math-rock influence into it all. One thing I didn’t realize until I actually got the CD was that the band also features a member from White Drugs (TX) who are also pretty rockin’ in their own right if you’re into scuzzy/trashy sounding rock. But anyway, Brillo’s Aftermath is a pleasant and very welcome surprise to my collection, a very nicely recorded album as well. Do check out the posted tune below.
