"Hang The DJ"

An old brother band to both Goodnight & Goodnight and LeBaron, Hang the DJ has since taken their insanely catchy indie pop to Nashville, Tennessee. Once a five-piece, Hang the DJ is now a trio of some of the most talented musicians this area had ever known. They're currently working on new album, and their new single, "Lucy Lucy" is so adorably reminiscent of older Ted Leo. - Spooky Nook Records

"Hang The Blessed DJ"

...hang the blessed dj remids me of the beginning of WAX and WEEZER early tour dates...clever and interesting..i get phantom planet meets the shins to come...all hail good pop songs! - Matt Suhar \ Tantrum Management \ Chicago

"Hang Gots the Bang"

HTDJ takes The Beatles and Kinks and brings their discs to a punk show and plays them in between the bands...perfectly placing the right song at the right time without causing a riot - Handsome Jack (Jackass)

"Hang The DJ"

"Hang the DJ is like a tall glass of ice cold lemonade on a sweltering
hot August afternoon - Refreshing. Thirst-quenching. Not too tart, not
too sweet. It's time to dump the complexities of pretentious,
over-produced music, and savor the fresh-squeezed taste of HTDJ. Cheers!"

Bio

Conceived in 2005, Hang the DJ is a three-piece indie rock band based out of Nashville, TN. Originally from Pennsylvania, the band began as a five-piece reliant on the beguiling vocal harmonies between guitarist Colin Deibler, drummer Alex Wash, and bassist Hassan Ali Estakhrian. Inspired from a wide array of talented artists from Morrissey to Rancid, the bands song formula put a unique twist on their influences and let their personal convictions do the rest.

While in Pennsylvania, their infectious melodies and catchy hooks made them a staple among indie rock artists in their area, but in a town where the prime market was overly consumed by hardcore artists, an inevitable relocation was in store.

Prior to the move, the band had garnered an excess of publicity due to their memorable live performances and their studio recordings. Their debut EP, titled It Shows, was released in late 2005 and showcased the bands exceptional knack for presenting their wealth of talent in a tasteful way.

Hang the DJs current lineup is by far the groups strongest, comprised of three of the most well-endowed, multifaceted musicians the area has seen.

Their most recent work builds upon the foundations initially set by artists like Ted Leo and is reflective of who they truly are: classically-trained musicians with an overwhelming penchant for pop brilliance.

Though many likely foresaw the band stripping down their sound as they cut members, their newest songs implement their most varied instrumentation yet, heavily layering tracks with instruments like synthesizers and even a lap steel.

Unlike most modern artists, Hang the DJ is free of pretense and has remained indisputably genuine. This atypical combination of sincerity and brilliant musicianship will be mirrored through their debut full-length which is currently in the pre-production process.
