Bio
Hank of the Destruction Moose hails from the depths of El Paso, TX. David Oh (Lead Guitarist) and Brian Howard (Drummer) had been jamming for about 12 years together, shredding through musicians leaving nothing behind but a low self-esteem, when Chad Barensfeld (Rhythm Guitarist) joined the band. Keeping a bass player was a problem for the band and they were almost always on the look for the next one. James Munch (Bassist) joined in the Summer of 2006, then mysteriously disappeared and returned again in November of 2006. Mike Poblano (Vocalist) connected with the band through a myspace add and joined in October of 2006. The five have been together as Hank of the Destruction Moose ever since. The twin guitar assault and thunderous rhythm section, filled with a madness of monster vocals is a brutal mix of progressive power thrash rolled up for mass consumption.
As a complete band, they have played at Mulligans, Goodtimes Sports Bar, Uncle Paulie's, the Lonestar Lounge, Chic's Bar & Billiards, Zepplin's, House of Sin, Lucky Devils, and Veteran's Park. Their influences include Born of Osiris, Lamb of God, The Faceless, Necrophagist, Pantera, Mastodon, Meshuggah, Killswitch Engage, NOFX, and old school Metallica.
Hank of the Destruction Moose is a refreshing sound for those that seek a fresh blend of metal, hardcore, and thrash.
They recorded and released their first demo CD in April of 2008, engineered by Ted Kelley at El Adobe Studios in El Paso with tracks El Dorado, Busted, License, and Resentment. You can contact their manager Ben Garcia for booking at 915.494.2002, or contact H.O.D.M. through myspace or email:
