"Sound Bites"

"This Alabama native has been a regular at Jammin Java for a few years now, so repeat listeners will be happy to know she's coming around this time with a brand new CD, "Storms of Summer". On it, Miller wraps her husky voice around songs that borrow from nursery rhymes, church hymns, and good old fashioned themes of love, loss, and longing."

-K. Oliver - Free Times

"On the Scene"

"...I don't think another voice could do to the well-known phrase- 'ashes, ashes, we all fall down'- what Hannah Miller has done. Sultry and defiant, it makes me want to sing nursery ryhmes."

-Otis R. Taylor Jr. - The State Newspaper

"Flying Saucer"

"Female singer-songwrters have often been too readily compared to other female singers. It's an easy trap for artists and critics to fall in, but simply saying that someone sounds like Joni Mitchell or Ani DiFranco...is sometims just the best way to describe a singer. But not Hannah Miller- here is a female vocalist who cannot be fitted into some designated slot. Her debut EP, "Storms of Summer" finds her in a soulful, sultry tone one song, and then a wistful, breathy voice the next. It doesn't hurt that she can write one heck of a song, either."

-Tug Baker - Free Times

"Sound Bites"

"...Like Norah Jones but with a touch more twang and a wistful lilt like Basia Bulat, Miller is nothing but winning charm and grace on stage." - Free Times

Bio

When Hannah Miller sings, you listen. It's a command she carries in her voice, leaving you no choice. But with vocals as warm as a summer sunset and as inviting as a home cooked meal, listening to her sing is no hard sentence. Her independent debut EP, entitled "Storms of Summer", released in May, 2006, reveals a sultry, soulful voice, a well spoken lyricist, as well as a confident, accomplished guitarist. The lyrically driven, poignant, and melodic tunes on the album have an uncanny ability to still your restless soul as you listen, bringing a little bit of peace into your world for a moment; moment that, when it's over, inevitably leaves you wanting more. Listen, and you will understand.
