"Hannah Moriah"

- Breakfast with Birds

"Hannah Moriah - Picayune [2011]"

Be sure to check out Hannah Moriah's chilling indie folk EP Picayune. Hannah blessed us with her beautiful voice on our track "Tell the Whole Wide World" off Every Minute of the Day. She does all her own arrangements and shreds on the cello. - Sourdough

"Hannah Moriah: Paper Wings"

Dangerous Minds pal Chris Musgrave shot and directed this extraordinarily intimate music video for a song called “Paper Wings” by newcomer Hannah Moriah. This is my first exposure to Hannah and her music and I’m duly impressed! ....Not to sound like Ed McMahon or anything, but I think we’ll be hearing a lot from this talented young lady in the future! - Dangerous Minds

"Hannah Moriah is the voice in your dreams"

Listening to Hannah Moriah sing is both mesmerizing and disconcerting....Angelic and elegant, her vocals seem aged beyond her years. She drops to a smokey resonance while ending a word, setting a mood for what could be the end of the world or the soundtrack to a dreamscape. The perfect companion to a David Lynch film....This is one of those artists that you want to tell everyone about and no one about. True undiscovered talent.

Picayune [2011] 5 track debut album

Hannah Moriah is a singer-composer and multi-instrumentalist from Napa, California, currently based in Oakland.

Trained as a cellist in her youth, Hannah diverted from her childhood instrument when she began teaching herself guitar, demonstrating an ardent and unique fingerpicking style. Her dexterity with a guitar and an unusually eloquent lyricism dovetail with a dreamy, graceful voice:

“Angelic and elegant, her vocals seem aged beyond her years.” Her songs create “a mood for what could be the end of the world or the soundtrack to a dreamscape” (SF Examiner, 2009)

Deriving much inspiration from the night, her dreams and the sleepy mountain home that framed her upbringing, Hannah has described many of her pieces as “nocturnes.”

A former vocalist of Bay Area psych outfit The Lumerians, She has provided vocals and strings to Oakland based rock/pop group Alright Class, and vocals to The Bins (1320 Records), and Lateef the Truthspeaker (Quannum).
