Bio

“If no one takes anything else from my music, I want them to see the passion and hard work. I also want them to understand I’m going to work my ass off 100% every time and I want my fans to see my progress.” As he says smiling “I'm excited.”

Born on November 19, 1992 and raised in Los Angeles, Jeremy "Hardaway" Smith was only ten when his parents divorced and his father was in and out of jail for most of his life. So, he turned to poetry as a creative outlet and a way to ease life's stresses. In his early teens, he began to take his craft more seriously and over time he developed his skills. With the right instrumentation, he believed that rapping was a talent he could use to pursue a music career. “It's the whole concept of working harder than everyone else to not only be the Number 1 artist but also a business mogul in the future through the grace of God.” As he explained the origin of his stage name, which is derived
from his favorite NBA player, Penny Hardaway whom wore jersey Number 1.

Hardaway Smith is set to make a name for himself alongside Corey G, his go-to music producer, by releasing his debut album Smith Renaissance: Absolut on September 27th, 2011.

Hardaway and producer, Corey G., began production on SR: Absolut in March 2011. The majority of the album is produced by Corey G. and also features production from rapper/producer LaVish. As an ambitious kid and surrounded by all sorts of music thanks to his grandfather's heavy music influence a career in music is only fitting. “I began rapping because I've always liked to write journals as a kid and my grandfather Paul Lewis was very passionate about music. We shared music. Before he passed he told me he wanted me to pursue what he
loved. I told him I would make him proud and finish the chapters. So here I am.”
