Bio

Four musical forces convened at Bard College to become Hari and the Karis the winter of their first year tearing up Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Brooklyn’s Vladimir Nahichevansky electrifies the stage with a manic spunk that conjures to mind the raw power of punk idols past, while Brooklyn guitarist Eli Frank’s versatility leads dynamic shifts in shit-kicking and tear-jerking. San Francisco’s Tristan O’Shea on the drums balances feel-good West Coast vibes with bestial, while the sweet stylings of New York City’s Sam Zeitlin on bass brew up an intoxicating funk. Beginning their studio endeavors with Joe McGinty (The Psychedelic Furs) at Carousel Studio, Hari and the Karis produced singles “24 Hours” and “Little Sister” to give the Internet a taste of their medicine, but full-blown treatment can only be administered live with Hari and the Karis, whose energy stands out around the Bard music scene. In their first year together they have opened for Amanda Palmer, Naomi Punk, and Chappo, and 2013/2014 holds in store for Hari and the Karis video production and recording of their sophomore album through Jet Boy Records.
