Biography

Born in Missoula, Montana Harland Allen moved his family from Montana to Colorado when he was 4 years old......OK...... his parents moved to Colorado and took him along. Raised in Lakewood, Colorado Harland started playing guitar at age 10 and started his first garage band in Junior High School. His first gig for $$$ was in 1977 at The Ground Round Restaurant and Lounge in Lakewood, Colorado. He continued to perform at local clubs and lounges playing acoustic guitar and singing songs by people like Cat Stevens, James Taylor, The Eagles and a variety of country and folk music. Over the years Harland has performed solo and in a number of duos, trios, four and five piece bands. In 1993 Harland moved his family to Wyoming. Unlike the move from Montana to Colorado, Harland was old enough to do the driving. After moving from Wyoming to Sturgis, South Dakota, in 2008, he went back to his roots as an acoustic musician performing the music he loved as a soloist. Now Harland performs at festivals, concerts, theaters, the occasional club or street corner. He plays a number of original songs along with his favorite acoustic cover songs.
