Harlequin League would never claim they could change the world…
…And why should they? - It would contradict the purpose of music intended to shake your soul, not save it. To stare you down and agitate your foundations, not hold you by the hand and tell you what you want to hear.
Here is a band effortlessly combining elements of dirty rock, gritty post punk and eclectic pop, with lyrical content producing a feeling despite the band's collective tongue remaining firmly in cheek at every turn. But if you can't have a bit of fun with your art, what's the point, right?
Won't Change The World is the first cut from Harlequin League's forthcoming album, something to tide you over the summer while the band finish up their first full-length effort. If their first two EPs are anything to go by - releases that earned the band a triple j Next Crop and Unearthed J Award nomination as well as numerous support and festival invites - we're in for something that may not necessarily change the world, but will certainly unlock another door to its prosperous musical offerings.
