"Harmonic Generator's "Le Downside Up Tour" 2011"

When you think of France, you think of electro, quirky pop and even accordions. Dirty rock & roll isn't the first thing that comes into your mind, and that is exactlywhy Harmonic Generator decided to relocate to Australia for a short time. Having been here since early September 2010, the band have been recording, gigging and most importantly, soaking up the music. They have picked up some management too, through Blue Tongue , which Satre is grateful for. "I used to manage the band", he explains. "I am composing too. It takes really quite a long time everyday to do that. I tried to have some time to play my guitar, to enjoy my passion, at the same time I have some really important work to do to make the band do well".
Childhood friends, the members of Harmonic Generator joined forces when they were 14 in high school in Marseille. That was seven years ago. "We always had the same passion for music together. We have two brothers in the band, Charles (guitar) and Alex (drums) Roussel, we all had the same dream for music in 2004 and we thought 'why not make a rock band?"'
It would be the Roussel brothers'father who would turn them on to the idea of English speaking rock'n'roll. "When we went to the house of the Roussel brothers we listened to their father's album of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Who", he explains. "We heard that all the time when we were little kids. It was so natural for us to make English speaking rock; we couldn't make it a different way".
They have also tailored their sound to such a degree that Charles makes his own Fireband guitars. "The Fireband is the logo of the band", he says. "He built it with his uncle. Everywhere we go people are asking where the guitar is made, it gets a lot of attention".

"Live Report - Harmonic Generator 06/08/2011"

Il y a du Tesla, Great White, Guns & Roses, ACDC, Screaming Jets, etc, beaucoup de grands dans un fondu enchaîné, le tout dans un léger et subtil parfum. Au final il ne reste qu'une identité : Harmonic Generator. - Rock Meeting France

Still working on that hot first release.

Driving a Rock'N'Roll projectile into the audience, these French gutter rockers pile on the energy with firebrand guitars, body shaking rhythms and implode the stage with a volatile injection of searingly rebellious vocals.

Recording their debut single ‘Dead On The Ground’ in Sydney Australia early 2011 towards the end of their “Le Downside Up Tour” Harmonic Generator have hooked up with some of the UK’s fastest moving breakthrough bands; indie rockers ‘Jacksons Warehouse’ (London), hardcore rock band ‘Our Innocence Lost’ (Manchester) and pop rockers ‘The Fores’ (Birmingham), to help launch their new single and deliver the ‘Nasty Frogs Tour’ on English soil this February.

Brothers Alex Roussel(Drums) and Charl Roussel(Guitar) grew up together in the south of France with friends Nikk Helinger(bass), Renaud Satre(guitar) and Quentin Barthes-Villegas(Vocals). The band members parents had a major passion for UK and Oz rock vinyl albums from the 70‘s and 80‘s that never left the turntables during their youth and this transpired into a passion and natural progression to the rock show they now deliver.

Recently Harmonic Generator delivered a performance at Glanum Rock Festival at St Remy where they show cased their new found energy on home soil before gaining the news they had secured world renowned producers Mark Opitz(ACDC/KISS/INXS) and acclaimed Australian producer Colin Wynne of Thirty Mill Studio to record and produce their new songs in 2012.

So it’s three shows to Heathrow, then off to plunder, down-under!! There’s no question that France’s ‘Harmonic Generator’ have hit the ground running in 2012.”
