"Harmony The Kid"

"I first heard about Harmony when he opened up for Lil Debbie back in November 2013, from there we were invited to his CD release event, and now we had the chance to talk about a few things to get to know him a little better…"
I've heard his new album "Took The Long Way Home" plenty of times over and over again, and one thing I can say is that each song is different. Harmony explains himself pretty well in "I mean that (Interlude)", and the rest, well he either has you singing along to "Room To Grow" featuring Lee Lonn or getting crunk to "Bitch" featuring Neeks The Kid.

"Harmony Kills The Fuckin' Stage"

"Now we had come to the most unexpected part of the evening. A massive fellow by the name of Harmony The Kid took the stage raising many eyebrows as to what would come next. Harmony approached the stage with a visual image reminiscent of one Side Show Bob meets Andy Milonakis. Sporting a neck full of tattoo’s the kid came out swinging. Tongue twisting instrumentals and even throwing in a little vocal performance. Accompanied by a hype man that probably drank 16 red bulls, these two put on a show that had many of my fellow hip-hop heads raising the ole “look at him go” eye brow to one another." - True Sole - True Sole

""Is Harmony The Next White Rapper To Blow Up???""

"One of the best things about being in a position such as mine is that I get to attend a lot of dope shows in the area and having the opportunity to network with really cool people. So on this particular Saturday night I got the chance to see the legendary Mobb Deep perform live, something I had never done. As I’m coolin’ and smokin’ some good with Dave from our street team, a kid by the name of Harmony who looks to stand 6’5 on stage comes out with his crew and rocks the building. When Harmony is up there doing his thing I catch myself really jamming to this kid’s music along with many others going crazy and rapping verse for verse to his music. So I look to Dave and say “Yo this kid is rockin’,”. After the performance I just knew we had to approach him and let him know how great they did. A great performance is something you can never take away from an artist, that’s what separates who’s good and who’s great. Hopefully Harmony can fulfill that someday as we believe he can.
From Grand Rapids, MI. this 20 yr.old producer/aspiring hip hop artist is a definitely a force to be reckoned with. Harmony grew up very poor , moved all over Michigan and began playing guitar, drums, etc. at an early age. Hip hop he loved, being inspired by Notorious B.I.G. and Eminem listening to the Marshall Mathers LP every day and would learn to rhyme. By the 4th grade he started free styling to friends and family. Hip Hop was something he was turned on to most definitely. At the age of 15 with his skill to play drums and guitar he began to produce his own music. Linking up with his good friend in High School Dj Cap Com the two worked on music and just wanted to rock crowds. Dropping his first official mixtape “The Real Life” basically talking about his life and life experiences. But things took a turn for the worst quickly for the youngster by getting involved with the wrong crowd and doing heavy drugs. Harmony was kicked out of his parent’s home, living with different friends and now being homeless on the streets for 18 mo. As things could not get worse, Harmony decided enough was enough and spent 1 yr. in Rehab to sober up. He wanted to get away from that life and get back into making music.
With a little help from his family Harmony moved to Houston, TX to start a new life. Meeting new people in a new city Harmony met his close friend and fellow hip hop artist Neeks from San Diego, Cali. Only being in Houston for a year Harmony thought it was time to get back to what he loved “his music”. Dropping his second mixtape “Animosity” in April 2013 with 15 original beats and features his homies “Neeks & C.I.T.Y. “ Performing all over the city, establishing a fan base and after releasing the mixtape on datpiff along with the help of the Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes “Animosity” reached 25,000 downloads in the first week and still growing rapidly. With a growing fan base out of Michigan, California, and Texas Harmony definitely has the goods. “This could not be a better time such as this Dave, I am so happy that I’ve been able to turn my life around and having the honor of gracing the stage of Yelawolf and Mobb Deep”! I would consider Harmony as The White Biggie Smalls with verses like “It’s the white Biggie Smallz resurrected with another dope message- fuck you pay me”. - David "The Social Outcast Netwrk" - David "The Social Outcast Netwrk"

Bio

Harmony also known as Harmony The Kid first started making music while living in his homeland Grand Rapids, Michigan. The first time they played one of Harmony's songs on the radio was back in 2009 on 104.5 WSNX, a big local station in his hometown. Ever since then even through struggles Harmony has always known this is what he wanted to do.
Harmony's family situation wasn't working out so well, at 16 he was homeless and was forced to take a break from his music. While Harmony was homeless he got very caught up in a lifestyle of using heavy drugs, it's surprising he's still alive today with the countless overdoses.
In 2011, 13 months of being homeless, Harmony's ambition prevailed and he moved to Houston to get sober and chase his dream. It's only been a few years since he has embarked on the music industry but Harmony has got a pretty big buzz in the city as well as a big buzz back home of course.
His most recent mixtape "Please & Thank You" takes a positive turn on a not so positive life story. It's about being grateful and loving yourself. Best described by Harmony in his own words "The idea from this tape originally came from the fact that I wanted to do something different from all my other tapes which have primarily used dark lyrics. In this mixtape I wanted people to see the grateful and joyful side of me, cause on the real, I'm just a fat goofy mother fucker that likes to have fun. At the time I wrote and recorded this tape I was really happy and I'm glad it shines through in the music."
What's next for Harmony? Who knows, stay tuned in regularly because he might just be the next white rapper to blow up from Michigan that spits raw tongue twisting lyrics like the legend Slim Shady himself!!
