Bio
Hi, I'm Harm van Sleen. I was born in the Netherlands, and grew up in a variety of countries including Syria, India, Algeria, Zambia and the USA. In 1989, I graduated from the Hilversum Conservatory in the Netherlands. Since then I've performed with many bands playing both acoustic and electric bass, and lately also the pedal steel guitar, making a living as a freelance musician. Additionally I've written songs for various projects, including children's songs, songs for musicals, and songs for educational purposes. My songs have been recorded by Capelino, Mr. Boogie Woogie, Burt & the Brand-new Lifestyle, Dicky Greenwood, and Lisa Otey.
Awards: Gossip (recorded by Lisa Otey on her Trio album, and by Capelino on their Way To Go album) was listed in the Top 20 in the Unisong International Songwriting Contest in the Jazz/Blues category, and "Brown Paper Bag" from the Bassman's Holiday album received an honorable mention in the 13th Billboard World Song Contest.
