Harold Whit Williams

Harold Whit Williams - "a genuine power-pop guitar hero" according to Trouser Press - was born and raised in the musically renowned Muscle Shoals area of Alabama.

He spent a decade playing guitar for the critically acclaimed Texas band Cotton Mather. Uncut Magazine in UK called their record Kontiki "the best power-pop album of the 90s."

In 2007, Williams, along with Cotton Mather drummer Dana Myzer and power-pop legend Ron Flynt, released the record, Euphonia, as the studio project band, Stockton. Williams and Flynt split the songwriting chores. Williams' song Dreamworld was used in second season of the WB show Veronica Mars.

And in 2011, Williams released his first true solo record - The Daily Worker Songbook. He again enlisted Ron Flynt with his Jumping Dog Studio in Austin, with help from Stephen Belans (Alejandro Escovedo, Jame McMurty) on drums and percussion.

Williams spent the spring and summer of 2011 playing his new songs at various acoustic venues around Austin, accompanied by dobroist/guitarist Jon Bookout (Plum).

Williams has worked in numerous studio sessions for Austin artists - including Kacy Crowley, Future Clouds and Radar, Michael Fracasso, among others. Also, his poetry chapbook, Waiting For The Fire To Go Out, is available from Finishing Line Press. He lives in Austin, Texas.
