Harper’s music is warm, lush embodying works that are contemplative and soothing, stirring and energetic. His strong background in storytelling and instrumental performance transforms venues into a soundscape for tales enhanced by his knowledge and a haunting tinge of longing and mystery.

www.myspace.com/gregoryharpermusic - Harper quite literally bridges the gap between ancient folk tunes and lore and modern day music – preserving the tradition while making his own contribution to its lineage. His repertoire is vast and varied, and includes everything from ancient ballads(such as Muirsheen Durkin) to favorite folk tunes (such as Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan covers) to original compositions. His original compositions are focused with his keen sense of observation and connection to the people around him. He has been performing professionally since the 1970’s and has most recently played at Nicholson’s Tavern and Pub, Molly Malone’s, Claddaugh Irish Pub and World Music Fest 2008. He is also currently performing on an ongoing basis at City Cellars and College Hill Coffee Company.
