Harps of Tartarus

We are a band of four guys that all have full time jobs and get out there on the weekends to play whenever and wherever we can! We are not doing this for money or fame, give us a space and we'll play, doesn't matter if there is one person or 100 people, we are going to play as hard and loud as we can!

Our influences are all over the board, from Ten Grand and Botch, to Blonde Redhead and My Bloody Valentine. We try to find interesting ways to pay tribute to our influences by bringing in some of that sound into our music.

Our music is on the serious side and a little dark. I think we all pull from personal experiences that were from "rough" patches in our lives and put that in our music. But we are all very goofy individuals and enjoy joking around which is why the titles we come up with are all inside jokes, from the songs to the upcoming EP. They seem silly or stupid to most, but we think they're funny!

I guess what it comes down to is that we are all hard working people in our daily lives and we escape the everyday grind by getting out on the road and playing shows. That dedication and work ethic carries over into our band as well, I would say we are one of the quickest bands when it comes to setting up and tearing down at shows. We understand there is a time line to get all the bands on stage and we try to get set up, play, and tear down/off stage in no more than 25 minutes total. While the band is fun, at times it needs to be treated like a business, and we do that.
