It presents the richness & variet of Indian and Gipsy culture in all its facets.

Biography

One of Austria’s greatest jazz musicians has musical roots that run deep: He comes from a Roma Gipsy family that surrounded him with rhythm and harmony before he could even talk. The Austrian-born guitarist burns up the fretboard with astounding technique that combines strength, speed, finesse, and soul into one scintillating package. “ (b.m.) In more than 40 years he recorded over 25 CDs, playing successful all over the world, setting the new standards in guitar playing and giving an opportunity to jazz and gipsy music fans to enjoy the music of this grate artist.

He played with his Band "Harri Stojka Express" at the Open Air Festival in Vienna's Prater Stadium as the only Austrian group next to Jimmi Cliff, Eric Burden, Van Morrison and Carlos Santana. He also played at Montreux Jazz Fest, the Mecca of all jazz musicians, alongside to Larry Coryell, Birelli Lagrene and Harri Pepl. Beside that he played at Jazz festivals all around the world: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, USA- NY, India, Jazz Fest Kahmoro (Cecland), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Django Reinhardt- Memorial in Augsburg, Jazz Fest in Yogyakarta etc.

A documentary film about Harri was made, during his tour in India 2010, “Gipsy Spirit- Harri Stojka, a journey”- which won a prestigious “Romy” Film Award as the best documentary film. 2012 Harri Stojka was nominated by “Amadeus Austrian Music Awards” as the best Austrian jazz and world musician.
