Harvey and Speer

Writing a biography that isn't contrived, cliche, or over amplified is a difficult task. What might be even harder is to write one that is entirely true and have people believe it. There is a lot of uncertainty in life and in the paths we choose, with chaos and confusion everywhere. But the one thing that is known for certain, is that Tyler Harvey and Mike Speer co-exist for the common purpose of writing and perfoming music together that takes people to a new level of consciousness. If you've heard their music, or seen them live you would undeniably agree. When asked how and when they met, no memory comes to mind.
"We've just always played together. There was never a question or a doubt." stated Harvey rather matter of factly. These two speak of their years of musical collaboration as something uncontrolled by them. They've tried writing music with other people but always returned to the source. They've tried to go their separate ways but somehow ended up back together. When it comes to playing music there's no one else they'd rather team up with and for good reason. When people come to see them live, amazement is the only reaction. People always wonder how they do it. How they take a song and make it sound so perfect.
Over the years, Mike and Tyler have played together with many other acts as both session professionals and as part of the songwriting nucleus. They have also been writing and recording their own material for many years but have yet to find band mates that share the same goals, perspectives and abilities. Tyler and Mike continue to write and record by themselves and are confident that band mates will follow. They continually work towards a brighter future and have the pleasure of playing with many great local professionals for their live shows.
