Biography

The talented Prophetic Psalmist has just released his exciting debut album and it has been said that the world is not ready for the power and spiritually anointed messages contained in these musical compositions.

Harvey Pinkney has released his debut album earlier this month, marking a huge stride in the career of the multi-talented bass-baritone-singer-songwriter. Harvey, who lives Alsip, Illinois, has just put the final touches to the album, and is now in process of the release. This will certainly build upon his fan base and get his music, and more importantly the message from the Lord contained therein, to be heard by more people than ever.

The album, 'Finally with The Lord', consists of fourteen original songs written by Harvey Pinkney, each providing a combination of his high-energy musical composing skills, melodious and resonantly powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics that are undoubtedly taken straight from the scriptures. The rhythmic undercurrent bears testament to the liberty in Christ exhibited by an Old Testament prophet emerging from the wilderness with a message to deliver from Almighty God. The music is punctuated throughout with elements of pop, hard driving contemporary Christian rock and R&B. The prolific use of God's Word coupled with a bass voice lead singer within the powerful compositions makes for a sound that has never been heard before.

The album was recorded at The Music Group Studios in Edmond, OK, and its creation was supported by musicians who have been associated with some of the greatest names in contemporary Christian music. It was produced by L. G. Hamilton of The Music Group Studios.

The theme of the album underlies the immense burden of the Lord that Harvey has endured over many years, the essence of which is the call to repentance and holiness to a nation that is depraved and sin sick. The harshness of the message has caused Harvey to find liberty and freedom in Christ. This freedom ultimately caused him to thrive and to explore fresh sounds and develop his one-of-a-kind musical style.

'Finally with the Lord' reveals the stunning array of poignant, serious and urgent prophetic messages, that have found their way into Harvey’s music.

Harvey was raised as a Christian and recognized at a very early age that the behavior of individuals calling themselves Christians sometimes differed markedly from the commandments of the Lord in His Word. This bothered him as a young child and to deal with and express his feelings he composed his first song at age 5 and was singing even earlier than that.

It was as a young man however, that the urges within the songs written began to parallel messages from the Lord. Harvey describes the inspirations as "fresh, pure, totally and completely unique and spiritually powerful!"

Harvey does not shy away from including political and socially controversial references in his music, reflecting one of his most consuming burdens. To remain free from the fear of man, in order to please God. The label, Harvey’s own creation, says it all. “Prophecy Set To Music.” The labels’ slogan marks its sole purpose: “Consumed by the power of God’s Word… musically...to lift & enlighten your soul.” This is why listeners are changed when they hear “Finally with the Lord.”
