"Hassani Kwess: All you “Real HipHop” snobs need to give it all a rest. It got old quick"

As this Nas, Life Is Good plays, I sit at the keyboard unsure of how to introduce this hip hop student turned teacher. I could tell you where he’s from, his credentials, and what songs he’s been featured on, but what does that really tell you about who Hassani Kwess is? So instead I’ll let this speak as a testament to why you should invest the next 10 minutes of life on this feature. - Ivy Betty

"Hassani Kwess - My Money Jam"

Not featured on the solo tip since making his solo debut with January 2012’s Kick the Bass, Chuck, Chicago-by-way-of-D.C. rhymesayer Hassani Kwess is back to update us on his paper chase with My Money Jam, single number three off his next studio album. A Booth-exclusive world premiere, the cut finds Kwess showcasing his IDGAF attitude over the dissonant, adrenaline-pumping sample work of Royal. Though the artist admits, “I’m more broke than all my b**tches,” the ironclad hustle ethic and appealingly turnt up style he showcases here lead me to believe that his fortunes may soon change. But enough out of me—are you feeling it? If so, keep it locked for more fresh cuts leading up to the independent release of The Kwess Never Sleeps in July. - DJ Booth

Hassani Kwess is by far one of the hottest up and coming emcees out there. His verses and bars are better than many of your favorite rappers, yet he remains under the radar of many listeners. Critics surely jumped the gun when they labeled this kid an ‘old school’ rapper. It is evident that Kwess has a true knowledge of Hip-Hop; from the way he incorporates the DJ into his music, to his beat selection, all the way down to his swagger. But there ain’t nothin’ old about the Kwess. With his release of Ruthless, Kwess proved to listeners and critics that he will not be overlooked or picked on. Now, Kwess is back with big bass, a revamped sound, and a readiness to hold listeners’ eardrums hostage. - See more at: http://www.jenesismagazine.com/feature-hassani-kwess-kwess-never-sleeps-who-is-hassani-kwess/#sthash.nRUgC0Da.dpuf - Jenesis Magazine
