Bio

4 New Orleans men choosing to leave out vocals. Loud, soft, warm, heavy, delicate, spaced the f*** out. It's a southern attitude, without blues. Heavy and delayed can turn into upbeat and melodious in a snap. Samples of Dr. Dre and controversial religious fervor are strewn about Hat Talk sets.

Drummer Jon Kelpsch is one of the hardest hitting percussionist in Louisiana. Raised on fast, intricate punk rock, Kelpsch brings an element to Hat Talk that is pure power and progress.

Bassist J Steigner is a classically trained drummer turned 5-string bass player. He plays 90% of a Hat Talk set with his Chewbacca hair dangling inches from the ground, the patented Hat Talk head bang bounce.

Guitarist Chris Thompson is also an amazing vocalist who converts all his internal melodies to a Gibson SG and sways like the trees while playing.

Guitarist Cory Brim is also a sax player who turns it up to eleven when playing Hat Talk riffs; spacecore.

You're pulled inexplicably by a swaying orc emitting emergency sirens from his giant axe and rolling in waves through a black forest while the tops of trees spray down dead melodies that sweep you in stereo as the ground below you is but a malarial swamp where fathers forsake their children. It drags you down as you move, booming you out of of your sleep walk while Remnants of polygamous cities' streets whirl around you in a syncopated windstorm, but you are not alone.

You're fabricating messages from above to kill. Blood Atonement. It is God's will to see that you prove it to yourself. The One Mighty and Strong calls for REMOVAL. Short Creek is just ahead. They were a people with its own myths and purposes, and with a history of astonishing violence. You are seer stoned, lost in the translations. The Mountain Meadows are long forgotten now. It's all an elaborate biblical rationale. Stay or accept it. The Peace Maker. The Fundamentals impressed by the lord for 67 wives. Prophets armed with Laban's sword for righteous purposes. REMOVAL. And so it came to pass.
